Reed Smith is the Founder and Co-Owner of Centered Recovery drug and alcohol addiction treatment centers. He serves as Director of Client Services for the drug rehabs Marietta, drug rehabs Roswell and is in charge of assisting the drug rehabs Atlanta centers in Georgia. Reed began in the field of addiction first as Director of Admissions and Interventionist, but quickly became highly sought out for teaching and training for his unusual wit and expertise in mindfulness. Reed is an internationally known speaker in the field of drug and alcohol addiction and mindfulness. His personal story allows him to bring his own unique style and passion to his substance abuse rehabilitation classes ar the IOP drug rehabs Roswell location. He is passionate about helping people recover their physical and mental health through mindfulness, and serves as an educational speaker for the recovery industry in North Georgia.
Krista Smith is the Founder and Co-Owner of Centered Recovery drug rehabs Marietta, Roswell and Atlanta. She also serves as CEO of this nationally acclaimed drug and alcohol addiction treatment center. Krista has a BS in Psychology and is currently finishing her MS in Organizational Psychology from Troy University. She has worked in residential, inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment in many different roles. Krista is the author of “Transformational Recovery, A Mindfulness-Based Approach to Substance Abuse Recovery” in conjunction with clinically proven MBCT, MBRP, behavioral psychology, and cutting edge neuropsychology. Dr. Tim Cummings serves as Centered’s Medical Director for our drug rehabs Roswell and drug rehabs Marietta locations. He provides individualized medical services for our clients. Dr. Cummings received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in 1980 and completed medical school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1986. He has a private practice in Roswell where he has been providing high-quality care to his patients for over 15 years. Dr. cummings was voted as one of America’s Top Physicians by the Consumer’s Research Council for ten consecutive years. He has helped educate on substance abuse rehabiltation with our drug rehabs Atlanta, Georgia service area.
Tammy Cha, LMSW is originally from Orlando, FL and a two time graduate of the University of Central Florida— Go Knights! She obtained a B.S. in Health Services Administration with a minor in Health Sciences and a Masters in Social Work. Tammy completed her Clinical Social Work Fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C in 2013. She has worked in both acute and ambulatory care settings. In 2014, she helped pilot a Hepatitis C Social Worker program at MedStar Health Research Institute and has been cited on multiple evidenced based peer reviewed journals during her time there. Tammy is currently a licensed master social worker (LMSW) and focuses on delivering empathetic, client centered, solutions focused, mindfulness, and strengths based approaches all while finding ways to eliminate barriers to care. She has a natural affinity to serve and help others and enjoys watching her clients evolve and grow into better versions of themselves. Tammy serves as our Clinical Director and is an integral part of our team.
Zack Garner, LPC was born and raised in Atlanta. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2011 with a B.S. in psychology and received his degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of North Georgia in 2015. He got his start working in residential mental health care, working primarily with young adults experiencing a wide range of diagnoses including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and substance abuse. Zack has a passion for working with individuals identifying as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. He has been extensively trained in both CBT and DBT, and believes in using an affirming and mindfulness-based approach to treatment. When not at work, Zack is usually spending time with his dog, visiting with his niece and nephew, going on long runs or planning his next trip!
Nicole Denman, LPC, serves as a primary clinician for clients at Centered. has been a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor since 2007. She specializes in working with depression, anxiety, trauma reactions, and grief and loss.
She utilizes CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, and person centered therapy to help our clients focus on their individual strengths and learn how to build upon those to help create a clear path for clients to be able to thrive and be the best version of themselves.
Jennifer Lopes is a native of Philadelphia and moved to the North Atlanta area after completing grade school. For years, Jennifer has been a passionate advocate for positivity in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders through connection and kindness. She has a BS in Psychology, with a concentration in Addictions, from Purdue University and is working toward completing her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. Jennifer currently serves as Case Manager for Centered, writes for the Centered blog, and provides essential support for the Clinical Team and clients.
Jessica Delgado joins the Centered team as our in-house nurse at the IOP drug rehabs Reswell location. She has been working as a nurse for 12 years and has been in the Roswell, Georgia area for about three years. Jessica has a passion for working with people that have substance abuse problems and helping them achieve their health goals.
Branton Box is a Group Facilitator and Breathwork Instructor for clients of Centered. Originally from South Texas, Branton moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. After working on over 50 TV shows, as well as becoming a personal trainer to Oscar winners, professional athletes and the world’s top models, Branton stumbled into a Breathwork class which changed the trajectory of his life. Now after having practiced Breathwork since 2013, introducing Breathwork, Mindfulness, and Self-Inquiry to others has become Branton’s driving purpose and passion in life.
Maureen Whatley provides Group Facilitation and Sound Healing Meditation groups for clients of Centered. Maureen is a Certified Health Coach with special training in Emotional Eating Psychology, Whole Person Health, and Detox Whole Life, as well as a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, among other specialties. Maureen loves to help clients flourish–living to their fullest potential, engaged in relationships and activities that are meaningful and aligned with their own values and has over 10 years of experience in the coaching field.
Kelsey Tulowitzki runs a highly impactful Yoga for Recovery group at Centered on Thursday evenings. Kelsey began yoga with the intention of physical benefits, but as her practice evolved she stayed committed for the mental relief. Yoga has brought presence, grace, and structure to her life that she chose to bring to people in recovery. Kelsey has accreditations for 200hr YT, Yoga for 12- Step Recovery, and Trauma Informed Yoga. Her intention is to bring people back to their bodies in a safe, supportive environment.
Carson serves as our resident videographer and social media support team member for both the IOP drug rehabs Roswell and outpatient addiction treatment center in Marietta, Georgia. Carson has been a videographer for 5 years and works as a digital animation artist/3D VFX artist for video game development when not at Centered. He has a passion for helping people and can usually be found helping out in Marietta group on Thursday evenings as well! Carson owns Cinema Motions and is a fun member of our team!
Robert Schlien joins Centered’s Outpatient drug rehabs Roswell and Marietta, Georgia as a Mindfulness Master Group Facilitator. He shares his decades of wisdom and understanding in mindfulness, meditation, and breath work. Robert has a Bachelor’s of Science from Long Island University in Psychology and has worked in mental health hospitals and in hospice care for over 11 years. Robert also has spent many years volunteering with Big Brothers, Big Sisters program of Broward County and was twice nominated for “Big Brother of the Year.” Robert holds certifications to teach Transformational Meditation, Mindfulness Meditation, Insight Meditation, Patanjali, and Bhagavad Gita courses. He completed his mindfulness training from the Transformational Meditation Institute through the Poverello Center and the Holy Angels Church in Wilton Manors, Florida, where he then taught meditation and yoga for 18 years for HIV/AIDS patients. He can also be found teaching Mindfulness Meditation at the Episcopal Church of Dahlonega, GA on Thursday evenings.
Lauren Payne serves as a Case Manager for Centered and holds a B.A. in Education with a concentration in special education and a minor in psychology from the University of Mississippi. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she served as an elementary school special education teacher and case manager for six years in the Fulton County Schools System. As a teacher, Lauren specialized in providing academic, emotional, and behavioral support to students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, and childhood trauma. She believes in meeting people where they are at on their journeys, seeking to understand individuals on a deeper level, and celebrating every milestone and accomplishment along the way, no matter how big or small it may seem. Lauren is passionate about mental health, education, and helping others live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.
Trevor Smith is a senior at Cambridge High School with a drive to help others. He has served as CHS Student Class President as well as Vice President, is an honor roll student, and varsity athlete in track and cross country. Trevor serves as a behavioral health technician for our evening IOP program and also interns at Ghost Ship Audio where he gets to expand his love for music.
Mason Guerra is an honor roll student at Cambridge High School, and serves as a Behavioral Health Tech for our evening IOP program. Mason has a passion to help others, and has served as CHS Student Class Vice President and is currently a Senior Class Representative. Mason also has an internship with Ghost Ship Audio in Atlanta and loves music and politics.
