Jennifer “Jenna” Cox, LCSW, grew up as a proud Army kid, relocating 13 times before the age of 11. At 13, her family settled in Marietta, Georgia, where she attended middle school and later graduated from Sprayberry High School. Though not your typical Georgia Bulldog fan, Jenna earned her B.A. in Journalism with a minor in English from the University of Georgia. She later pursued her passion for helping others by completing a Master’s degree in Social Work at Kennesaw State University.
Jenna’s early professional journey was shaped by meaningful volunteer and internship experiences. She volunteered at a children’s grief camp, helping young people navigate the loss of a loved one with compassion and resilience. Her first internship was at the Cherokee Family Violence Center, where she supported individuals impacted by domestic violence. She then interned at Peachford Hospital, where she went on to work for five years, providing care to children, adolescents, and adults facing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Following her time at Peachford, Jenna expanded her expertise by working in a residential substance use treatment center. Today, she brings that depth of experience to her work at Centered Recovery.
Jenna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and incorporates a strengths-based, client-centered, and solution-focused approach in her work. Jenna believes every individual has the innate ability to thrive. She partners with clients to clarify goals, harness personal strengths, and develop effective coping strategies, supporting each person on their path to a more fulfilling, substance-free life.
