Recovery Rooted in Mindfulness

At Centered Recovery, we believe in a holistic approach to alcohol and drug rehabilitation. Mindfulness is a powerful tool to achieve long-lasting sobriety, and our programs address the root causes of mental health issues that can often lead to substance abuse. Through our group programming and individual counseling, we can help clients pursue a happy, healthy, and sober life.

Our Rehabilitation Programs

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

This is our most intensive tier of outpatient rehabilitation. Rest assured, this is still an outpatient despite ‘hospitalization’ being in the name. In this program, clients must hit at least 30 hours of group programming and individual counseling sessions. These can be completed during our normal hours of 9 AM – 4 PM or even during our evening or weekend hours for those looking for a little more flexibility. We recommend those who have recently completed a detox or inpatient program do a PHP so they can continue on their sobriety journey with more intensive resources.

PHP runs anywhere from 1-12 weeks, with insurance typically covering a portion depending on medical needs. Other constraints include budget, schedule, and mental health needs. Remember – we are focused on mental health, so we recommend more of a time commitment for those clients dealing with severe mental strain from anxiety, depression, or burnout. Clients in this program are subject to weekly urinalysis/drug screenings as well as weekly check-ins for physical and mental health.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP is a level down from the PHP in terms of intensiveness. Clients are required to participate in group rehabilitation 3-5 days a week for 3 hours each. This roughly totals 9-15 hours a week. Clients must also participate in individual therapy for at least one hour a week. IOP modules run from 1-12 weeks and insurance may cover 4-12 weeks based on care requirements and your carrier. We will still test for drugs and alcohol once a week and conduct physical and mental wellness checks once a week to ensure clients are advancing through the sessions without issue. Clients are encouraged to live in a sober living house for the duration of the program but can also live at home.

Outpatient Program (OP)

Our standard outpatient program only requires 1-2 days of 90-minute group therapy sessions. Only 1-2 hours of individual therapy is required during OP. This program is designed for people who don’t require intensive substance rehabilitation but still want to be engaged in some sort of clinical practice. For many, staying involved in some type of recovery program is essential to maintaining sobriety.

Education Program (EDU)

There is also the option to engage in our group rehabilitation sessions on your own time with our EDU program. In this program, clients can attend all of our classes for the full 12 weeks. They can also come to one group a week or purchase a group pass, which is good at any point within a 6-month period. Individual therapy through Centered Recovery is not required at this level. We encourage clients to participate in therapy, either with their own therapist or through one of our individual counselors, at their discretion to get the full benefits of our holistic programs. We also do not impose any drug screenings or weekly medical check-ins.

We Also Offer Virtual Alcohol and Drug Programs

Our campus is located in Roswell, and we strongly encourage potential clients to come see the facility before writing it off because of travel. In many cases, the closest rehab center may not be the best one for your goals or current mindset. However, we also have virtual programs available to Ball Ground, GA, residents so you can still work on recovery from the comfort of your own home. It is also possible to do hybrid programming based on your schedule so you can work in some in-person sessions.

How Does Mindfulness Relate to Addiction?

We have mentioned how mindfulness is a cornerstone of our recovery programs, but what does that really mean? Our philosophy is built on the idea that substance abuse is a reactive behavior to some form of mental health stress or emotional trauma. By focusing on this trauma through meditation, therapy, or other mindfulness practices, we can get to the root cause of the issue and develop healthier alternatives to working through it.

True mindfulness makes people more aware of their thoughts and behaviors and how one can lead to the other. By strengthening this pattern recognition, people can see the signs of addictive behaviors before they occur and maintain sobriety. Mindfulness also helps to improve other areas of your everyday life, including both personal and professional relationships.

Another key element of the mindfulness approach is non-judgementalness. Addictive behaviors can spawn out of self-loathing or low self-esteem. Mindfulness helps people to take stock of the positive things in their lives and reverse the trend of reacting to self-imposed judgment.
