Centered Recovery Celebrates World Mental Health Day

Yesterday was World Mental Health Day, which is annually held on October 10th worldwide with the main objective of raising awareness of mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of better mental health. “Mental health in the workplace” is the theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day, and we at Centered Recovery are proud to take part in it, today and every day. We believe strongly that the health of the helper is vital for the success of our clients, which is why we encourage all of our employees to monitor their own emotional well-being and engage in self care such as exercise, mindful meditation, or taking short breaks from long hours of desk work. Studies show that particularly in the mental health industry, employees often are not able to recognize their own mental or emotional burnout. We also encourage all of our employees to participate in adjunct therapies offered at Centered Recovery such as neurofeedback therapy and host psycho educational classes for staff members that teach innate resiliency and help them understand how their experience of life is created.

Our focus is to create an emotionally healthy, grounded team of professionals in order to create a tranquil environment for our clients to thrive in their recovery, free from the distractions of stressed out, overworked employees who may not be in their best mental health. We believe in “walking the walk”, and know that begins with our team of qualified professionals. We believe this exponentially increases our ability to provide caring service to our clients, but also allows them to see the tenets we teach in classes and in individual therapy work in a real life setting, increasing their chances of real success in recovery.

We are proud to be a member of the mental health community that takes the mental health of its employees seriously, and sincerely hope that more businesses in all industries take note of the importance of the mental health of their team.
